First DFP Graduation

In April 2014 the first batch of DFP students has graduated.  They started their training at the Dairy and Food Polytechnic in September 2011. After a basic training program they have specialised in either dairy production, food processing or maintenance and repair. After two years of training, and half a year of on the job training (internship), they are now employed by AlMarai, the largest dairy production and processing firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with over 25.000 employees. As reported in previous Newsletters, DFP has been established by CINOP Global in joint cooperation with AlMarai.
During a Graduation ceremony at the College a total of 103 students received their Diploma. The ceremony was attended by the CEO of AlMarai, the Director DFP, local and provincial authorities, representatives of the Ministry of Labour and DFP Board members. The Dutch Ambassador as well as the Agricultural Attaché were amongst the Guests of Honour.

A selected group of eight graduates will continue with further teacher training in the Netherlands after summer holidays. Their training will last for one year, including on the job training as assistant teachers at DFP. The training is in view of the Saudisation of the DFP staff, resulting in future handing over of the training to Saudi staff.
